Such a great place. One of our favorite places to come. We sat at the bar. Ordered the usual daddy cool andold fashioned. Met Trevor, who introduced us to a new drink called Too Soon. It's a must try! I will be getting it next time. Trevor was fun and spoiled us. Everybody there is so great, the ambience is great, and the drinks are great. If you haven't gone, you need to try it. Also on the first Friday of each month they have an amazing singer, Coco...you will be leaving wanting to come back.

We ordered from the Happy Hour menu, 2x sirloin, side order of bake potato and portobello, 2x hot dog, and 2x cocktail drinks. First, you cook your own meat and hot dog that was fun, no issues there. Food was fine, you put your own seasoning which they have on the BBQ grill. Drinks was great. Side was also good. The issue is the server didn't say the side was extra. The sides was more than the steak. But it's ok, now we know we will order more steak than sides. But over all it was good. Yes, we will go again for Happy Hour and no sides.

Let's see, how do I say this.... THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC. Good steaks, at a fair price, you cook em' how you like em', servers are super nice, drinks are great, happy hour is amazing, vibe is positive, music is perfect. Just go, and have a great time, ok?

This place has been on my Yelp list for a while and I'm disappointed that I didn't visit sooner because this place is the ultimate experience!!! Went on a Friday night and there was a live performance so being able to not only enjoy the experience of grilling my food I was able to enjoy my meal with a lovely performance :) Also, the cocktails are SO delicious!! The bartenders really not what they are doing. All in all, if you're still reading this, just stop reading and make a reservation right now!

10/10 Ambience 10/10 Service 8/10 Food 10/10 Drinks I've been to butterscotch den a couple of times and have always enjoyed myself. I personally love the jazz nights (on tuesdays) and the happy hour. You can get a decent meal here (and you get to cook up your own steaks which is a fun date idea) and enjoy carefully crafted cocktails! I can tell that the owners of Butterscotch truly put a lot of care into this place! Will be coming back:)

This place is great for a date or a social event with friends. All dishes come raw and need to be grilled and seasoned yourself. Instructions are given based on how you want your meat cooked. Personally, I find it more cost-effective to just get an 8 oz sirloin with baked potatoes and another side of your choice, along with a cocktail. My go-to is their off-menu daisy cosmo that the waitress kindly recommended - so yummy!! I'll definitely be back, either for a special occasion or just to have a fun time. This place aims to provide an overall experience; it's not a Michelin-grade food restaurant. I love the service and ambiance. Thank you, Butterscotch Den!

OK, B.D. is listed as a steakhouse, but I am a vegetarian.... although, I should be honest, my partner and I came here for cocktails specifically. But.... here's my top 10 list of words to describe Butterscotch DEN... Moody... Romantic... Dark Ambiance... Diverse crowd... Hidden in plain sight (entrance wise)... Local 'hood favorite... Classy... LGBT Friendly Vibes... Full Bar... Indulgent... Bookmark this spot and visit when you can! We can't wait to return!

Found them while searching for steaks in Sacramento. It's easily more of a dive bar than a steakhouse. They do have the liquor worthy for a steakhouse, but the beer and wine selections run very short. There was a lot of parking available a block away by 34th St on a Saturday at 5 pm. A short walk to the establishment's unassuming marked door, and we were finally inside this 21+ only resto-bar after being on our sights for months now. The den was only serving two tables and a couple at the bar when we arrived, but we still got checked-in via our reservations. We were sat by our host and server in a corner booth with views of this hole in the wall's two sections. The first upon entering is the bar with a couple of tables, and the second partition is where the grill, stage & more tables. I now see why they're always packed. The cocktails we got were whatever was on the menu. I chose my usual Old Fashioned while my wife got an Espresso Martini. Both A1. As we were ordering for food, our server asked if we knew how food was done here. After acknowledging that we did research, we got our uncooked items wrapped in paper for the steaks and aluminum foil for the vegetables and bread as short while after. Now, I love steak, and I grilled at home with an indoor cooker, but I don't really have the confidence to do it on a hot grill. Our friendly server tipped us to do 5 minutes for each side for the ribeye and 4 minutes on each side for the top sirloin. Our deed, however, was 4 minutes for both on the first side and 3 minutes on the other side, and that got us perfect medium cooking for both slabs of beef. Struggled to season and grill our raw items for 7 minutes, plated our dishes, and proceeded to our table to feast on our accomplishment. I didn't ask for the chimichurri (you should!), and we should've spiced up more (using BD's own seasoning), but the steaks and side dishes turned up good anyway. We capped our dinner with a Pink Squirrel, which was an excellent option for dessert. They don't offer the Bourbon Butterscotch pudding anymore, and that was a bummer. We loved the experience and the struggles of taking photos in the dimly lit amber atmosphere that is Butterscotch Den. Snagged us a couple of wrapped hard candy when we left. Thought they were mints in the dark, but guess what. They were butterscotch. Insert mind blown emoji here. Unapologetically different printed on their souvenir postcard. No argument here.
